Gifts of Land: Your personal residence, vacation home, farm or ranch, undeveloped land, rental property, and commercial buildings are all valuable assets. A gift of these assets can be beneficial to you, and can become a generous investment in the future of Loveland Habitat for Humanity. Occasionally the property can be used directly for Habitat homes. However, it may be that the property will be sold and the proceeds of the sale used to support our mission of building affordable housing.
There are a number of ways to make a gift of real estate holdings. Depending on the gift option you choose, your gift may help you avoid capital gains taxes, lower your current income tax and possibly increase your income while freeing you from the demands of property management.
Keep in mind that real estate gifts require significant planning because of the required evaluation, approval, and transfer processes. If you are interested in exploring the benefits of a gift of real estate, please contact our office at least three months prior to your anticipated date of gift. We will work together with you and a Planned Giving Officer to develop a gift plan that works for you and also provides important support for Loveland Habitat for Humanity.
