Susan McGraw Scholarship Fund Helps Three Children of Loveland Habitat Homeowners

The Susan McGraw Loveland Habitat for Humanity Scholarship Fund was established in 2005 originally to provide scholarships to the children of Loveland Habitat homeowners under the age of 25 for the purpose of continuing their education.

In 2008 the fund was expanded and offered to all members of Loveland Habitat households for the purpose of enhancing or improving potential for employment or earnings. This allows the scholarship to be used for education, training, or certification at an accredited agency, college, GED, vocational or trade school.

To date, three people have been awarded the scholarship. Kacy Blanchard has received the award two times and has maintained a 4.0 grade point average at Front Range Community College. Robert R. has received the award one time and has been named on the Dean’s list at IBMC. And, Irene Portillo, who also attends IBMC, has received the award one time.

The scholarship application period opens in November and closes in January. The scholarship committee will meet February through April to determine the awards for the coming school year.

If you would like more information on the scholarship program, would like to make a donation to it or would like to volunteer on the committee, please contact Susan Briggs at 669-9769 or by email to susan@lovelandhabitatforhumanity.org.
