"No matter the location of the build site, the religion, gender or ethnicity of the homeowners or volunteers, there is a sense of authentic community that links Habitat partners."

Get Over the Credit Hurdle with Habitat

The previous decade of easy credit has taken its toll on the credit histories of many low income families in our community making it impossible for them to meet the selection criteria of Loveland Habitat for Humanity.

In order to assist families in addressing these issues, the Family Selection Committee together with area professionals have created a “Resolving Credit Issues” class. The class provides information on how to read a credit report, determine which items are valid, instruction on how to dispute those that are not and provide budgeting and planning information to pay off debt.

There is time allowed at the end of each class for one-on-one discussion so that personal items can be addressed. Follow up classes are also offered.

Empowered with information, participants know what steps they need to take to prepare themselves to apply for a Habitat home. The classes are held on a regular basis. For information call Susan at 669-9769.
