Denise and Her Family

Denise had first learned of Habitat many years ago when she wrote a speech about it for a class, never dreaming that she would one day apply for the program. When she suddenly became in need of affordable housing, she knew where to look. She feels at a loss for words to explain how blessed she feels to be given the incredible opportunity to partner with Loveland Habitat for Humanity to become a homeowner. “This is truly an answer to prayer.” Her family is looking forward to gardening and the freedom and pride that owning a home brings.

Loveland Habitat for Humanity Receives Thrivent Sponsorship

For the 7th year in a row, Thrivent Builds Homes, a partnership between Thrivent Financial and Habitat for Humanity International, will partner with Loveland Habitat for Humanity in the construction of one home through a sponsorship.

“This is an amazing honor and we are very grateful to Thrivent for their sponsorship and continuing support of our mission of building safe, decent and affordable homes for Loveland Families,” said Gwen Stephenson, Executive Director of Loveland Habitat. “There are strict guidelines and parameters that need to be met in the sponsorship application and we are fortunate to have been able to fulfill all of them once again.”

As part of the sponsorship, funding for the construction of the Loveland Habitat home will come from three different sources:  55 percent of the total cost from Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, 10 percent from local Thrivent Chapter(s) and Lutheran congregations, and 35 percent provided by the Loveland affiliate.

This is the seventh straight year Thrivent Financial for Lutherans has committing millions to stabilizing, strengthening and securing communities by creating affordable housing in partnership with low-income families through its unique partnership called Thrivent Builds with Habitat for Humanity.

Thrivent Financial’s total seven-year support of Habitat for Humanity, helping families achieve the dream of homeownership, will surpass $160 million in 2012.  To date, more than 480,000 Thrivent volunteers have donated more than three million hours to construct 1,600 homes.

Loveland Habitat for Humanity is building its 106 home in the community since 1987. This year will also mark the affiliate’s 25th Anniversary and it is currently taking applications for its homeownership program. Please call 970-669-9769 for more information.
